[SO. They're off the mountain!! It's been some days now, which is enough time to get over the initial "what the shit is going on" even if it's not quite enough time to actually adjust to anything.
But Kaoru adjusts quickly even in the least pleasant of situations, and is out and about getting familiar with the layout of the peninsula. It does no one any good to be caught unawares over the most basic things, after all - one should at least learn the street names... Probably. And where the grocers are! All things that are vital for survival, yes, food and warm clothing and - these really weird little trinkets on display in front of the shops. Kaoru isn't much interested in the shiny baubles and toys and street foods, but does stop in front of a display that's selling mandolin slicers. Of course, they're FROM THE FUTURE (to this punk who's a Bakumatsu ye olde, anyway), so it just looks like a useless chunk of plastic with a blade barely protruding out through the front.]
What in the world would someone use this for? [Which is spoken softly, not really meant to be overheard, but since this thread has to get started somewhere, Yamato is probably close enough to hear it anyway. WOAH.]
